Nelly, between science and the land

Since joining Vignobles & Compagnie two years ago, Nelly has become an essential part of our technical team. Her job as purchasing oenologist is a reflection of her personality: rigorous, inquisitive and, above all, always on the move.
💼 ‘What I like about my job is that it requires a lot of versatility,’ she confides. And rightly so: her daily routine oscillates between bulk buying, quality monitoring, sampling, preparing for competitions and even winemaking in the field at Château des Sources. Tasks that require intuition as much as precision.
« Oenologists are a bit like the doctors of wine »,
Nelly explains.
🧪 And like any good doctor, they know how to diagnose, prevent and adjust! Some oenologists work exclusively in the laboratory, while others move into more commercial roles. Nelly, on the other hand, is the link between these two worlds, ensuring the consistency and excellence of our wines from vat to bottle.
This cross-fertilisation between technique and end product, between analysis and tasting, is invaluable. It perfectly reflects the spirit of Vignobles & Compagnie: a deep respect for the profession, combined with a desire to move the industry forward by remaining rooted in the reality on the ground.
